Small nonfarm businesses in six Washington counties and neighboring counties in Oregon! You may now apply for low-interest federal disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to offset economic losses caused by drought. Eligible counties include Skamania in Washington and neighboring counties like Clark, Cowlitz, Klickitat, Lewis, and Yakima, along with Hood River and Multnomah in Oregon. These loans, with interest rates of 4% for businesses and 2.375% for nonprofit organizations, offer support for financial obligations and operating expenses up to $2 million. Eligibility is based solely on the financial impact of the disaster, not property damage, and interest accrues starting 12 months from the initial disbursement, with repayment starting 12 months thereafter.
