Native Wax with Connie Danger
This edition of the Native Business Spotlight features Native Wax, a Native woman-owned business owned by Connie Danger, a member of the Upper Skagit Tribe. Connie is an Esthetician with 11 years of experience who received her education and training at the Gary Manual Aveda Institute in Seattle, WA.
COVID-19 impacted Native Wax tremendously. Connie had to shut down operations for three months. As a result she could not operate her business, lost clientele, and of course could not generate revenue.
Connie found the Native Business Center through a Google search online. Our technical assistance team was able to identify her eligibility for the Working Washington grant and provide her technical assistance to walk her through the steps to fill out the paperwork.
Thankfully, she was awarded a grant that helped her pay her rent and keep her small business open.
