Seeing a need for energetic, nonprofit work in the Spokane area, Yoyot Sp’q’n’i was formed to provide sensible solutions to pressing issues surrounding Indigenous communities.
Through compassion and dedication, the nonprofit seeks to uplift others and help them thrive by advocating for Indigenous communities and prevent Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW), or Missing or Murdered Indigenous People (MMIP).
They do this by providing a safe shelter for Indigenous families who experience domestic violence. The shelter is culturally accommodating and focuses on trauma-informed healing, along with other services like SUD treatment and case management, and support food sovereignty.
They provide these services to the best of their capabilities to make a long lasting change in their community.
Also, the nonprofit is looking for driven and compassionate volunteers to make a real difference in the community.
You can learn more about them and find out how to connect with them on their website. Also, you can stay up-to-date on their latest activities on Facebook and Instagram.
