Meet the talented minds behind The Juicy Pig BBQ, Derek Abrahamson and Shedaezha Abrahamson. Derek, an enrolled member of the Spokane Tribe of Indians, and Shedaezha, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, embarked on their culinary journey during the challenging year of 2020. Their passion for cooking, especially Derek’s expertise in savory dishes, quickly gained popularity among friends and family. What started as cooking for intimate gatherings soon turned into something much bigger.

In June 2020, Derek and Shedaezha took a significant step by acquiring their first “big smoker.” They set up their Pop-Up booths at the Wellpinit Powwow Grounds, and to their amazement, they sold out within 40 minutes of opening. That moment was a game-changer. Since then, they’ve expanded their equipment and smoker inventory, increasing their serving capacity to an impressive 600 plates.

Their journey didn’t stop there. The Juicy Pig BBQ has catered a wide range of events, from weddings and powwows to rodeos and tribal gatherings. They’ve even ventured into competitive BBQ, winning numerous competitions along the way. As proud enrolled Tribal members, Derek and Shedaezha are delighted to offer their catering services to the greater Spokane Area.
