Osamuskwasis is a fashion company that specializes in Indigenous wearable art, clothing and accessories.
Owner and founder Osamuskwasis Roan, which translates to “Yellow Bear” in nehiyawewin (plains cree language), has always been interested in fashion and art ever since she was a little girl.
She was taught how to do beadwork by her great grandmother, grandmother and mother. She’s also had numerous aunties, uncles and mentors who inspired her in creating her own pieces of traditional artwork.
Her products include dresses, t-shirts, scarves, hoodies, blouses, shirts, earrings, and necklaces, among others.
Her main focus around her art is the land, culture and language. She always tries to incorporate who she is and where she comes from as an Indigenous woman into her beadwork, sewing, paintings, digital art, photography, and makeup.
You can look at her collections on her company’s website. Also, you can stay-up-to-date on their latest activities on their Facebook and Instagram.
