Heather Hart is a licensed therapist who brings a presence of warm compassion, curiosity, authenticity, humor, patience, respect, honesty, and safety to her work.
While her Master’s Degree is in Social Work, Heather has worked alongside diverse populations which encouraged her to get a more in-depth understanding of diversity training.
From there, she pursued a deeper understanding of root causes for many health disorders and found her way to trauma-informed care. She received training and is now fully certified from the EMDR Institute.
At her practice, she uses a variety of interventions and tools to people navigate their healing journey such as:
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapies (MBCT)
- Dissociative Identity Disorder Treatment (DID)
- Trauma Informed Reiki, Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Breath work
- And creative therapies
Heather wants to help people heal their trauma, meaning any experience that has caused them to suffer in their mind and body; causing them to lose touch with their wellness, sense of worth and hope, or their sense of empowerment.
“In my years of practice, I have found that there are many ways to find wellness in the mind, body and spirit,” she says on her website. “Each journey of healing that I have had the honor to facilitate has looked different, and yours will too.”
Aside from individual and group therapy, Heather also offers EMDR Retreats. These retreats last several hours and focus on EMDR techniques. They utilize supportive somatic modalities such a reiki, music, journaling, gentle body movement to allow integration after our EMDR re-processing sessions. At the end of the retreats, participants go home with a Self-Care Plan workbook that is individualized for them.
You can learn more about the retreats on her website. You can also follow her on Facebook and Instagram.
