Each sale contributes $48.00 toward your $2,400.00 in monthly fixed costs. At 50 sales, those costs are covered.

What does break-even mean?

It is the point where sales cover the costs you entered. Contribution margin is your price minus the variable cost of one sale. Divide fixed monthly costs by that margin, then round up to a whole sale.

This is a planning estimate for one product or service at one price. Include all relevant costs when making business decisions. Additional sales may contribute toward profit, taxes, and costs not entered here.
